Ed spent his early life in the Ozark Community. He met and married Vera Sillyman from Houston, MO. They married on September 14, 1953 and had two children, Kathy and Eddie Joe.
He moved with his family to Iowa in 1963 to work as a farmer. He also spent many years as a mechanic maintenance technician in several factories. On November 13, 1976 he married Lucille Campbell. She passed away June 5, 1999. Before retiring he worked as a manager for Merritt Mobile Home Park in Eldora, Iowa.
He moved back to Houston in 2009 to be closer to his family.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Charles Dixon and Lucille.
He is survived by a daughter Kathy Dixon Birkhead from Nashville, TN; a son, Eddie Joe Dixon from Houston, MO, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, a sister Betty Dixon, and a brother, Ronnie and wife Doris Dixon of Houston.
Ed was good with his hands and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He was also a fan of Nascar and the Green Bay Packers.
He will be missed by many family members and loved ones as well as those acquaintances who came to know him.
