Nellie was the oldest of their eight children. Nellie moved with her family to Crookston, MN where she spent the majority of her youth. She became a school teacher at Crookston and did substitute teaching for a two-week period at Perley, MN, where she met Einar D. Anderson. They were married in Crookston, MN 28 Jun 1906.
After their marriage they made their home at Perley, MN where they owned and operated a general mercantile store. Nellie was very active in her church.
After Einar's death, Nellie moved to Moorhead, MN and lived with her daughter, Helen. She lived there until she died at home at the age of 99 years.
Funeral services for Nellie were held at the Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley, MN 26 Feb 1981. Pastor Lance Yohe officiated.
