Samuel J. Burkett,201 North Jefferson St., Punxsutawney,
died Friday, January 18, 2002, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. Mr. Burkett was born April 17, 1919 in Markton, a son of the late Sam & Lydia (Bodenhorn) Burkett.
He was married to Linda Milliron Burkett, who survives.
He was a veteran of World War II.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include
a daughter, Judy E. Burkett Haines of Punxsutawney;
a sister, Jessie Brunner of DuBois;
and four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Burkett;
and four sisters, Ruth McMillen, Marcella Kaylor,
Mary Heitzenrater and Lucy M. Milliron.
Friends will be received at the Pifer Funeral Home, Punxsutawney. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home with the Rev. Fay A. Cron officiating. Interment will be in Markton Cemetery located in Oliver Township.
