MUNCIE--Myrl L. (Welsh) Hiestand, age 87, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.


She was born July 16, 1920 in Delaware County and has been a resident of this area all her life. She worked as a cashier at Ross Supermarket, and attended Tabor Independent Baptist Church. She was a member of the Peoples Sympathy Club, and was an avid card player, loved flowers, and especially enjoyed taking care of people. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.


She is survived by her loving husband of eight years, Clem Hiestand; one daughter, Texie (husand-Robert) Rogers, and two step-children, Charles Harold (wife-Sharon) Hiestand, and Connie (husband-Ed Alan) Hiestand; one sister, Alice Addison; three grandchildren, Karen (husband-Richard) Halcomb, Jeff (wife-Jane) Rogers, and Lisa Rogers; nine step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Daisy (Noble) Welsh; and three sisters.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor James Sandberg officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
