Service for Elmer John Barclay, 81, of Alvord will be Thursday, April 19 at Alvord Church of Christ. Bill Taplin will officiate. Burial will follow at Alvord Cemetery.

Barclay died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Alvord.

Born Nov. 19, 1919, in Forestburg, he was a truck driver and dairyman. He married Bobbye Mosley Jan. 8, 1940, in Alvord. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Alvord Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy and Otis Barclay.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbye; a son, Larry Barclay of Forestburg; two daughters, Barbara Klein and Ella Lou Barclay, both of Alvord; three brothers, Albert and Theo Barclay, both of Alvord and Arthur Barclay of Saint Jo; a sister, Buena Mae Westbrook of Dallas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold, Alan, Paul, James, Billy and Michael Barclay. Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy Barclay and Victor Mosley.
