Alvord: Albert Monroe "Pete" Barclay, 94, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, October 10, 2010 in Decatur.

Graveside service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 13th at Alvord Cemetery with Reverend Sonny Cole officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 12th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pete was born on January 12, 1916 in Forestburg, Texas to John Robert and Claude Kuykendall Barclay. He married Ina Pearl Palmer on May 9, 1944 in Waxahachie, Texas. Pete worked as a pipefitter welder. He served in the United States Army from 1937-1940 and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Ina Pearl Barclay of Alvord; two daughters, Betty Jean Slovacek and husband, Robert of Mabank, Texas, Ann Phillips and husband, Danny of Burleson; son, Michael Barclay and wife, Tony of Alvord; daughter-in-law, Kay Barclay of Valley View; brother, Theo Barclay of Dallas; sister, Buena Mae Westbrook of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his son, Teddy Albert Barclay.
