Flo Davis was the oldest daughter born to Jim and Stella Hestand. She had six sons and one daughter. Her last child was born about 7 months before her husband Harry's death. At the urging of her older brother, Flo moved her young family to Parsons, Kansas. Many members of Flo's and Harry's family lived and worked in Parsons. She had offers to take and help care for her children. She chose instead to keep them together. Although difficult for her, it turned out to be a good decision for her family. In the 1960s, she left Kansas to live with her daughter in Washington State.
