From History of Maries Co, MO by Everett M. King: Joseph Copeland, son of Pleasant, married Ellen, daughter of Benjamin Hutchison, who lived near Safe. He spent the greater part of his married life and died on Dry Creek, where his widow still lives. The four children of their marriage yet living are: Lizzie, wife of 'Bud' Roberson, and Alice, wife of Ernest Mayfield, of this county; Mamie, wife of William Sneed of Owensville; and Martin Copeland of Nameski, Illinois, who was married but left no children; and Cansada who married Richard Blackwell and died September 13, 1932 [error - died August 1923] (her husband is also lately deceased). The six children of this marriage, all yet living, are Joseph, Remus, and Oma, all of this county; Delphia, single; Maniza [Philipak] (married name unknown) of St. Louis; and Alma who married a McKinnon [Jesse] and lives near Dixon.
