BENNETT'S CORNERS
Died, August 15, 1889, Elnathan Brooks, of Bright's Disease. Mr. Brooks was born in Jefferson, Schoharie County, NY, April 1815; moved to this place with his father's family in 1825. His father died in 1833; and was the first person buried in the cemetery here. The subject of this sketch was the fourth child in a family of three girls and 8 boys that lived to grow up. He leaves a wife and four children, viz: Almira, wife of Sanford E. Jacox of Indiana; Pletis, wife of James Hier; Ella, wife of George Wyman, and Frank, all of this place, and an aged sister, Mrs. R. Carpenter. A large concourse of people attended the funeral service on Saturday, conducted by Rev. Reese.
