Funeral services will be conducted at Leftwich Memorial Church, Huddleston, this morning at 11 o'clock for Nathan David Updike, 93, whose death occurred Wednesday evening at 6:15 at his home near Huddleston. Rev. R.P. Parker will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born in Bedford County, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Updike, he was a member of the Methodist Church. His wife, Mrs. Rosie Woodford Updike, died a year ago. [Incorrect--she died about eleven years prior to Nathan]. One son, John Updike of Sandy Level [Franklin County], and two daughters, Mrs. Howard W. [Addie] Overstreet of Bedford, and Mrs. J.G. [Kate] Williams of Huddleston, survive him.
