A funeral for Luther James "Pete" Berry, 83, of King George will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church at Shiloh. The Rev. Charles P. Anderson Jr. and the Rev. James Meade will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aubrey Jennings, Tom Hall, Richard McGinniss, Tommy McGinniss, Dwight Storke Jr. and Marvin Berry. Members of the Webster Allensworth Sunday School Class at Shiloh Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in King George.

Mr. Berry died Sunday,Oct. 4, at Mary Washington Hospital after a short illness.

A native and lifelong resident of King George County, he had retired as a millman with the Public Works Department at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren after 34 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was very active in the Webster Allensworth Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie O. Berry; three daughters, Anne B. Huesmann of Waunakee, Wis., Norma B. Connelly and Jettie B. Cover, both of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Organ Fund of Shiloh Baptist Church, Shiloh, Va. 22549.
