William Cameron joined Scotland Presbyterian Church, Union Co., AR 13 Sep 1859 by Examination. William L. Cameron was elected as a Ruling Elder at Scotland Presbyterian 22 May 1887.

William L. Cameron enlisted as a Private in Co. C "Fagan Rifles," 2nd Arkansas Infantry 23 Sep 1861 and was promoted to Corporal. He was discharged in Virginia June 1862 for rheumatism and returned home. He later enlisted in the 13th LA Cavalry Partisan Rangers and then served in Co. G, 5th Louisiana Cavalry until the end of the war.

W.L. Cameron married Albina E. Marcus 24 May 1866 in Union Co., AR. She died in 1890 and he married 2nd Mary Jane Jackson 29 Jan 1893 in Union Co., AR. (Info submitted by Contributor Ann Dysart.)
