Captain Daniel Allen Jr. served in General Israel Putnam's 3rd Connecticut Regiment in 1775, the 20th Continental Regiment in 1776, and the 3rd Connecticut Regiment Continental Line between 1777-1779. After a brief ceremony and prayer, members of the Connecticut Color Guard fired two volleys to honor his service and memory.
