She was born August 2, 1839 in Devonshire, England. She came to the United States 62 years ago residing in DeKalb and Ottawa before locating in this city where she has made her home for the past 40 years. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Episcopal Church.
In 1856, she was united in marriage to William Harris in Ottawa, who died five years ago. To this union was born six children, all of whom are living. Their names are: W. H. Harris of Agar, South Dakota; L. F. Harris of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Mrs. Charles Wagoner of Brodshaw, Nebraska; Mrs. R. H. Semans of this city; Mrs. E. L. Wagoner of this city; and Arthur at home.
