May L, Gross, ninety years old, 56 Rock City Road, Olean, NY., passed away at the Olean General Hospital, Thursday afternoon (October 15, 1959) following a short illness.
She was born April 19, 1869 at Tecumpseh, MI. She was a widow of Abraham J. Gross, and had lived in Olean and vicinity for the past 30 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Martha Russell, Eldred, PA., Mrs. Harry Goodemote, Newcomerstown, OH and Mrs. Clarence Hardy, Limestone, NY.; two sons Harrison Gross and Harland Gross both of Olean; 31 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Burrows, Westons Mills, NY., and Mrs. Kate Monroe, Westfield, PA.; two brothers, Lew Wallace, Bolivar, NY and Kirt Wallace, California. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was a member of Showers Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Her body has been removed to the Halwig Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 until 5 and 7 until 9:30 p.m. beginning this afternoon, Friday (October 16, 1959). Funeral services will be conducted Monday (October 19, 1959) at 1:30 p.m. The Rev Alvin J. Willink, pastor of the Showers Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
