Anne McJunkin Briber, 84, born March 31, 1922 in Charleston, WV, passed away September 8, 2006.
Anne lived many years in Milwaukee, WI until she relocated to Amelia Island, FL in 1982 and then to Cypress Village of Jacksonville, FL in 1997. Anne was so proud of her Alma Mater, Sweetbriar College in Lynchburg, VA, where she was Senior Class President and went by the nickname of "Junk." After college, she was in Military Intelligence at the Pentagon for a year. In 1945, Anne married her beloved husband, Frank E. Briber Jr. In Milwaukee she was very active in the Junior League.
During her later years, Anne was a Docent for the Amelia Island Museum of History. She had tremendous talent and love for the arts, as was evident in her paintings, decoupage, models she made, silk screening and most recently, her carvings. She also enjoyed a good game of golf. Anne was a devout member of Palms Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville Beach.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Frank; daughter, Anne S. Briber of Washington D.C.; son, Frank E. Briber III of Fryeburg, ME and grandchildren, Rebecca and Brittain Briber, both of Boston, MA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14th at Palms Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville Beach, with the Rev. Dr. Tom Walker officiating. Please honor Anne's memory by wearing colorful attire to her Memorial Service.
