Mary Grace Coonrod, daughter of David M. and Ruth Coonrod, was born Oct. 15, 1885, and departed this life March 1, 1901; at 11 o'clock p.m., aged 15 years, 4 months and 16 days. She was taken with a violent attack of scarlet fever and was sick only six days and the news of ger death was a shock to almost everyone. She was a bright, promising young lady and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was of a very religious disposition and often expressed herself to the writer as being derirous of becoming a christian. Owing to the disease, only a short prayer service was held at the home Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.W. Keller, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Buffalo cemetery. She leaves a father, mother, four sisters, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
