Obit - William Francis Coonrod, 82, 1204 E Mighigan, died at 2 am this morning at his home after an illness of eight months. Born Oct. 10, 1861, the son of Josiah and Mary (Engler) Coonrod, in WHite County, he had lived here 31 years. He was a retired carpenter for the South Shore. He was married April 13, 1890, in Buffalo, Ind., to Dosha Bell North, who died Sept 7, 1942, two years after they had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Surviving are the following children: Victor and Mrs. Easter Hoffman, Monticello, Mrs. Myrtle Schmidt, New Buffalo; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, John Coonrod, Buffalo, IN. One son, Benjamin, died in 1913. Of the eight grandchildren, seven are in the armed forces. He was an active member of the First Christian church. Funeral services will be held at 1 Monday afternoon at the church with Rev. Franklin Payne officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo, Ind. Friends may call at the haas Funeral Home this evening. Sunday and Monday until 11 am and from 11:30 until the hour of the service at the church.
