Henry M. Billings was born on August 9, 1797 in Bradford, Pennsylvania. He moved from Bradford, Pennsylvania to Waushara, Wisconsin by 1855 and from Wisconsin to Cherry Grove, Ohio by 1865. Henry M. married Polly Buttles on September 20, 1820 when he was 23 and had 12 children with her. He died on November 16, 1868 in Goodhue, Minnesota when he was 71 and was buried in Goodhue County on his farm at Spring Creek and later moved to Pine Island Cemetery in Minnesota.
