William Treadwell was the son of Oscar A Treadwell 1834 and Esther Jones.
He grew up in the Town of Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
He married first Anna Spann, the daughter of Christian Spann and Elizabeth Louise Diedrich. The couple had two children, George Rufus 1897, and Orin W 1899. In 1899 both Anna and Orin died.
After the death of Anna, Christian went to live with his parents, until he married Emma A Jones, the daughter of Edward B Jones and Mary A Diedrick, on April 6, 1918 in Greenbush. Emma was a cousin of Anna, their mothers being sisters. The couple lived in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. They did not have any additional children.
