Aucoin, Hazel Rousseau "Zoot" A retired seamstress, she was entrusted to God's loving care on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at her home. She was five months short of her 100th birthday. Visitation will commence Sunday, June 18, at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville on Monday, June 19, at 8 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Jason Labbé. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survived by four children, Ellen A. Grisaffe, Wayne and his wife Jeanette, Dale and his wife Annie and Nell A. Naquin; three sisters, Alma Landry, Hilda LeBlanc and Leeanna Schexnaydre; and 18 precious grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Aucoin; parents, Adele and Marcellin Rousseau; and nine brothers and four sisters. Hazel led a full, active and alert life well into her 99th year. She was known to family, friends and past clients as a master seamstress, barber, Scrabble player, gardener, cook and fisherwoman. The family sincerely thanks Life Source Hospice, Diversified Home Health, devoted sitters, family, friends and loving community for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Church or school.
