Daniel was born 1 January 1785 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was baptized on 6 November 1785 in the Zion (Stone) Church, in Allen Twp., Northampton Co., PA with sponsors John Kohler, uncle, and Eva Master, aunt. He was the 8th and last known child of George and Eve Beets.

He married Sarah (Sallie) Altum around 1807 in Tennessee. They had ten daughters, Sally, Lucinda, Polly (Mary), Anna, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Eliza, Mary T., Sarah, and Lucy Ann and seven sons, Isaac, Joseph, William, James Thomas, Daniel, Jr., Jackson and George.

Daniel and his family are in the 1830 and 1840 Anderson County, Tennessee census. He was listed in the 1850 Anderson County Mortality Census as dying of Cholera at age 60 but his real age was 65.

The estate of Daniel Beets was inventoried and sold on 25 September 1849. Casper Webber was named guardian of the minor heirs. His wife, Sarah, died April 1880 of paralysis in Anderson County, Tennessee.
