Esther Roehling, 91, of Brenham, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at Brenham Rest Home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1919 to Emil and Theresa (Thim) Addicks in Independence. She was baptized Feb. 15, 1920 in St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Sandy Hill and confirmed March 25, 1934 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg by Rev. C.P. Hasskarl. Esther attended Rocky Hill and Wonder Hill Schools. On Nov. 26, 1939, Esther was married to Harry Roehling in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg by Rev. C.P. Hasskarl. She worked many years as an egg candler for Brenham Produce Company. Esther was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, was active in Ladies' Circle, and prepared luncheons for funerals. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, son Nelson Roehling, brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Gladys Addicks.

Her loving family includes: son and daughters-in-law, David and Doris Roehling, Gloria Roehling; grandchildren, Debbie and Troy Schroeder, John and Dana Conrad, Doretta and LeRoy Batts, Joel and Briana Roehling, Stacey and Tina Roehling; great grandchildren, Justin Schroeder and wife Janice, Adam Schroeder and fianc/e Kristen Klausmeyer, LeAnna and Brent Batts, Whitney Conrad, Madison, Dalton, Addie, Kyler and Braden Roehling; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the Roehling family will be today, Feb. 4 from 5-7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2:30 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Karen Wilhelm officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandson, with honorary pallbearers being all other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church.

Funeral services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham, Texas.
