The following is from the funeral handout that are given to people going to someone's funeral, in this case Agnes's funeral.

On December 27, 1993, our heavenly Father opened His arms and welcomed His child, Agnes Nanette Aurdal.
Nan was born August 29, 1906, in Oregon City, Oregon to Frank and Agnes MacArthur. When she was quite young, the family moved to Bellingham where her father was employed by the railroad company. It was in Bellingham that she captured the heart of the young Norwegian, Arnor Aurdal. They married on November 2, 1930 and, in due time, had five children: Arnor Robley, Frank Jens, Jane Nanette, Geraldine Margaret and Celeste Arnette.
Arn was a cabinet maker by trade and an entrepreneur at heart. His business ventures took the family to Hawaii where they lived for several years.
Nan especially loved the exotic plants, the tropical fish and birds. She brought back many impressions of the Island life when they returned to the mainland in 1953. They lived in Oregon for a short time before returning to the Seattle area, where they finally settled in Edmonds.
Throughout her life, Nan was noted for being a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother. She truly was an individual who found worth and something to love in every person she met. She delighted in the music of a child's laugh, a summer sunset, a bird's nest - even a slimey, crawling critter at the water's edge. She could always find an agate on the beach.
When Arn was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Nan devoted herself to him even more than she had done in the past. If tender, loving care could make a doomed man well. Nan would have increased her husband's life tenfold. But that was not to be.
Upon Arnor's death in 1967, Nan made her home with Arnette until ill health forced her move to Merry Haven Health Care Center in Snohomish on October 11. 1987. The family wishes to express an especially heart-felt thank vou to Merry Haven and it's entire staff. We saw love and kisses spontaneously showered on our mother by a staff that was not only trained for what they do, but who also went the extra mile because they really care. This mention of our appreciation in no way truly conveys our gratitude to the staff at Merry Haven.
Nan is survived by her two sons and daughters in law: Robley and Hildy Aurdal of Monroe; Frank and Mary Jane Aurdal of Everett; and three daughters and sons in law: Jane Walker of Redmond; Bruce and Gerri Olson of Seattle; and Jim and Arnette Brixey of Everett. In addition, Nan has 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
