Ben left California in his mid teens and worked on the oil pipeline in Oklahoma, where he met and married Margurite Eva Smith, in 1933.
They had four children there: Harold Gene, and three others still living.
He moved his family to Hutchinson, Kansas, in 1944. He worked at a grocery and dairy while there.
After their son, Harold Gene died in 1966, they moved back to Hominy, Oklahoma.
He worked as a butcher there, after he retired.
His children moved him back to Kansas in the late 1980's to live near them.
