Isaac Americus Moore was the fifth child of eleven born to Isaac Anderson and Margaret Josephine (Adams) Moore.

In the late 1890's, he moved with his parents to Noble County, OK during the second infamous "Land Boom."

He married Alice Mary Boyle in Richburg, OK in 1897. They had three children: Maudie, Benjamin Harrison, and John Americus. His wife died a few months after the last child's birth.

He moved to Reno County, KS, after 1902.

He married again Lillie Mae Holloway in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1908. They had thirteen children: Alvera M, Otto D, Elbert, Gene R, Edward H, Donna L, Lee T, Juanita, Margaret A, Archie, Grace, Barbara, and Gerald.

He worked as a contractor while in Kansas.
