Mrs. Emma Rodwell who had been a resident of the Town of Delton for over sixty years, passed away at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 24 days, on Thursday, May 31st, at the Portage hospital after a short illness.

Emma Frances Kingsley, third child of the family of Sylvester and Emeline Clement Kingsley, was born in the town of Summit, Juneau County, September 7th, 187s.

On October 28th 1888, she was united in marriage to Joseph A Rodwell and came to the farm in the town of Delton, where she lived until her death.

Five brothers, one sister, her husband, one son Roy, and step-son George, preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter Jennie, Mrs. Henry Dowd, of Lake Delton, a son, Elvin, of Boise, Idaho, two brothers, Robert of Lake Delton and Sumner of La Valle, 8 grand children and 14 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She had been a member of the Methodist church for over 30 years and was active in the WSCS until her health failed.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the Lake Delton Methodist church with Rev Howard White officiating, and interment was in the Delton cemetery.
