She was united in marriage to James L. Pearsall on June 20, 1880. Two children were born to this union, a daughter, Mrs. Grace Sherman of Milwaukee and a son, Harry, who passed away in 1931. James Pearsall has gone to his eternal rest on September 2, 1928.

Surviving to mourn the death of Mrs. Rutter are her daughter, Mrs. Grace Sherman of Milwaukee, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frances Pearsall of Winegar, Wis., 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Emma Rodwell of Delton, Wis., 4 brothers, John of Wisconsin Dells, Charles and Robert of Delton, Wisconsin and Sumner of Wonewoc, and many friends.
With the exception of some ten years of her later life spent in Janesville, she has always been a resident of Elroy. Both of these affiliations meant a great deal to her.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Fresley Funeral home with the Rev. D. J. Appleby officiating, after which the Eastern Star had a service.
