Edwina Allred Pendleton died Sunday evening, January 7, 2001, at her home in Salt Lake City. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family.
She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, on September 12, 1918, to Lothair William Allred and Charlotte Parkinson. She married Stewart R. Pendleton in the Salt Lake Temple on April 4, 1940. They were sweethearts for over 65 years. They are the parents of five children: Stewart R. Pendleton, Jr. of Bountiful, Utah; Susan Jacobsen of Palo Alto, California; Louise Smith of Salt Lake City; Lothair W. Pendleton of Salt Lake City; Steve A. Pendleton of Sandy, Utah.
She is also survived by her beloved husband, Stew; her daughters-in-law, Laura Pendleton, Dorothy Pendleton and Rhonda Pendleton; her sons-in-law, Dick Jacobsen and Bart Smith; her brothers, DeMar Allred and Kenneth Allred; her sisters, Louise Oswald and Marilyn Brown; 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted follower of Christ and has left her posterity with a great legacy of faith. In her last few days she put aside her own suffering to show love and concern for each individual who came to visit her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2001, at the Hillside Stake Center at 1400 South 1900 East in Salt Lake City. Services will begin at noon. Friends may visit with family members in the Relief Society Room from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
