Zepherine "Sadie" Burclaw, 70, 288 Depot St., Rosholt, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer, while under the care of Hospice of Portage County. She now joins her two sons, Randy and Jeffrey, in eternal life.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Rosholt the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church. There will be an American Legion Auxiliary ritual at 6:30 p.m. and the St. Adalbert Women's Rosary Society will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Shuda Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
A memorial has been established to Hospice of Portage County in lieu of flowers.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1927, in Marathon County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Zywicki) Stankowski. She attended local schools.

She was married to Tony Burclaw on July 5, 1947, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. They farmed in the town of Alban until 1969, when they moved to their current address in Rosholt. She and her husband owned and operated the Rosholt Bakery until 1980.

She was a member of St. Adalbert Women's Rosary Society and American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 509.

She cooked for many for many years at the American Legion and also at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to polka music, caring for her grandchildren and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Tony, Rosholt; four sons, Chet (Kay), Mosinee, Duane (Alice), Rosholt, Bob (Sherry), West, Des Moines, Iowa, and Brian (Denise), Pulaski; four daughters, Mary Cline (Jerry Renard), Little Suamico, Sue (Mark) Zajackowski, Junction City, Lori (Arlyn) Ostrowski, Bevent, and Lynn (Mike) Pankratz, Little Suamico; 23 grandchildren; one great-grandson; five sisters, Regina Groshek, Esther Brzezinski, Irene (Edmund) Landowski and Caroline (Arni) Clarkowski, all of Wausau; Lorraine Jozwiak, Chicago; and two brothers, Hubert, Birnamwood, and Louis (Mary) Rosholt.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Randy and Jeffrey; three brothers and one sister.
