Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Brown, age 85 of Vale, formerly of Traphill, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Mrs. Brown was born April 29, 1926 in Franklin County, Mississippi to Hardy Louis and Annie Lee Wooten Arnold. She was retired from Chatham manufacturing and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Lincolnton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Click Brown; an infant son; grandchildren, Travis Norman, Kaylee White, and Kimberly Brown; and one great grandchild, Cameron Brown.
Survivors include: sons, W.C. Brown and his wife Debi of Thurmond and Roger Brown and his wife Kathy of N. Wilkesboro; daughters, Carolyn Hendricks and her husband Edgar of Vale, Brenda White and her husband Donald of Boonville, Patricia Harris and her husband Wayne of Thurmond, Nancy Norman and her husband Delbert of Elkin, and Pamela Shumate and her husband Steve of Hays; two sisters; 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Andrew Royalls officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Home Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
