Helen (DeRosa) Vangel, 88, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday in Crouse Hospital. A life resident, she was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. She was employed by the Continental Can Company. She was predeceased by her husband, William Vangel Sr., on May 23, 1992. Helen is survived by her son, William Vangel Jr., of East Syracuse; two brothers, Anthony (Veronica) DeRosa of Liverpool and Ernest DeRosa of Syracuse; two sisters, Annette (John) Maselli of Syracuse and Lucille (John) Testone of N. Syracuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:15 a.m. Monday in the Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 9:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 514 Turtle St., Syracuse on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
