Mary (DeRosa) Finochio

Mary Finochio, 89, a lifetime resident of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at Birchwood Health Care Center. A former employee of Chappell's Department Store and Learbury Clothing, Mary was also a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter's Church. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1976. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who lived her life with strength, dignity and grace.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Diane) Finochio; granddaughters, Elizabeth Finochio and Kathleen (John) Fratto; great-grandsons, Anthony and Dominic Fratto; sisters, Helen Vangel, Annette (John) Maselli and Lucille (John) Testone; brothers, Anthony (Veronica) DeRosa and Ernest DeRosa; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. Friday in the Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 514 Turtle St., Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
