The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd McAfee will be pained to learn that a baby girl, born to them Tuesday morning, lived but a few minutes.

Mrs. Gwindlin McAfee, wife of Lloyd McAfee, passed away at her home in Lincoln township early Tuesday morning, death resulting from complications arising from child birth. Deceased was born in Franklin township on May 20th., 1887, and was the daughter of Francis and Edith Bell. At the time of her death she was aged 39 years, 7 months and 8 days.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd McAfee on January 26th., 1926. A few days ago a child was born to them, but the infant pass away a short time after birth.
Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church in Anita on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, and interment will take place in Evergreen cemetery. (NOTE: this is an error, interment is actually Wiota cemetery)

Well Know Lady Passes
Mrs. Lloyd McAfee, of Anita, passed away at her home Monday evening, one week following the birth of her child. Peritonitis developed and although every effort was put forth to save her, she failed to rally, and died about 10 o'clock.
Deceased was the daughter of Mrs. Frank Bell, of Wiota. She was born and reared on teh farm that is the home of her mother, brothers and sisters. After her graduation from the Wiota schools, she attended college at Iowa Falls, and finishing the course there, came back to her home and taught in may of the adjacent schools. Her marriage to Lloyd McAfee of Anita, took place last January, and they went to the Voorhees farm, three miles south of Anita, where they mad their home.
Mrs. McAfee is survived by her her husband, Lloyd McAfee; her mother, Mrs. Frank Bell; two brothers, Robert and Edward; and four sisters, Margaret, and Connie, of Wiota, Mrs. Most of Grant Iowa, and Bessie, who is music supervisor of the schools at Iowa Falls.
Funeral services were held in the Anita Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Wm. Mack of Atlantic, assisted by the Rev. E. O. Douglass, pastor of the Anita M.E. church, at 2:00 o'clock, P.M. Thursday,
Much sympathy is manifested by the neighbors and friends for the husband, mother, and other relatives.
