Abner Bozarth, the son of Reason Bozarth & Susanah "Susan" A. Bowles, was born September 7, 1834 in LaGrange, Lewis County, Missouri. His paternal grandparents were John Bozorth 9the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Unknown) Bozorth - earliest spelling) and Sarah Shaw (the daughter of Bonham and Mary Elliott).His maternal grandparents were David Jesse Bowles and Elizabeth "Besty" Martin.
Abner Bozarth and Sarah Aletha "Sudy" Sudduth were married on May 30, 1867 in Lewis County, Missouri as reported in Book 3, page 116. They were the parents of the following 6 children born in Lewis County:

Abner Bozarth - called "Bud" - was a farmer, born in Lewis Co., where he lived his entire life - He and his wife are buried in the Riverview Cemetery in La Grange, Missouri. (Children were) Bernard, James, Lyndel, Althea Owens, and Cathy (Kate) who died young, unmarried - Bernard and James had no nick-names and "Red" Bozarth was the nick name of Reason, a brother of Abner's, also the name of their father. James is buried in Hannibal, Missouri; the others listed are all buried in Riverview Cemetery in LaGrange. Benjamin was another brother. Abner, Reason and Benjamin lived on adjoining farms their entire lives, on ground inherited from their father. This ground was originally land granted to John Bozarth, the first permanent white settler, and was part of Marion County. Later the 1st Lewis County Court was held at the log cabin on John Bozarth's farm.
