Foote backed Mitchel's organizing of the Cincinnati Astronomical Society and published Mitchel's "Sidereal Messenger," the earliest magazine in the US devoted to astronomy.
Stella was later removed from Spring Grove Cemetery and moved to Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York on October 3, 1861.
