WESSON — Graveside services for Sheryl Parker Smith, 59, of Edwards, who died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Little Bahala Baptist Church Cemetery.

Burial will follow under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.

Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 30, 1951, in Winnfield, La., the daughter of Clyde P. Parker and Tressie S. Parker. She attended Dodson High School. She was a preschool teacher, childcare provider, secretary to the pastor, Sunday school teacher and owner of Seattle Drip of Clinton.

Mrs. Smith was a former longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez and recently attended Pine Lake Baptist Church in Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, James B. Smith; one son, James E. Cathey III; two daughters, Paige Cathey Polk and Erin Smith Rhoden; one brother, Clyde "Dub" W. Parker; one sister, Brenda Parker Brunson; and eight grandchildren, Kelsey Buquet, Brennan Cathey, Zoe Ferrell, Brady Polk, Macy Polk, Lily Rhoden, Mia Rhoden and Liam Cathey.

Honorary pallbearers will be each child that Sheryl had the privilege to love, guide and care for during her many years as a preschool teacher, Sunday school teacher and childcare provider.
