Hugh Higgins - Enlisted September 19, 1861 in Company "H" 2nd Iowa Cavalry at Iowa City, Iowa. He was discharged because of expiration of the term of service on September 19, 1864 in the field . He re-enlisted again in the same organization in the field and served until the close of the war.
Personal Information : Born in Ireland, age 67 at time of entry into the home on December 5, 1904. height 5 ft 8 in tall, Fair complexion, gray eyes, Can not read or write, Catholic, Occupation Laborer, residence subsequent to discharge was Dumas, Kansas. He was a widower. He died of cirrhosis of the liver on May 22, 1906. Buried in Plot - P, Row 23, Grave 16.
