MRS. HORTENSE BLOCH
Mrs. Hortense Bloch, 87, of 414 W. 58th St., the mother of Henry W. Bloch and Richard A. Bloch, who founded H & R Block, and of Leon E. Bloch, Jr., and area attorney, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the home.
Mrs. Bloch, the widow of Leon E. Bloch, Sr., a former attorney who died in 1976, She was a member of Temple B'nai Jehudah and its Sisterhood, Menorah Medical Center Auxillary, Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women, the Women's Auxillary of the Jewish Geriatric and Convalescent Center, and the Jewish Family and Children Services. Born in St. Louis, she had lived in this area for 62 years.
Besides her three sons, all of Greater Kansas City, she leave 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at Rose Hill Mausoleum; arrangements were by Stine & McClure.
