Mrs. Florence M. Robinson, 79, of McDonald died Saturday, Sept 9, 1978 in Washington Hospital after a short illness. She was born Dec. 20, 1898 in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of Samuel A. and Elizabeth McCarrell McCalmont. Mrs. Robinson belonged to Hickory United Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bette Green of McDonald; a son Lee A. Robinson of McDonald; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lyle and two brothers, S. L. McCalmont and Donald M. McCalmont allof Hickory. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. her husband, Oliver B. Robinson, died in 1962. Also deceased are a sister, Ellen, and two brothers, Leman and Allison. Services will be in the Speakman Funeral Home, Sept 12 with the Rev. Ronald Oglesbee officiating. Burial in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. - Observer Recorder, Sept. 11, 1978.
