Lenora "Nora" Ramey was born in Kentucky to parents Manford "Murphy" & Annie Ramey. They moved from Kentucky to Michigan so Murphy could work in the coal mines here in Bay City. Nora married Walter Grobe, also a miner, on Jun 5th 1906. She died of asthma in 1920, leaving Walter to raise her two young daughters. Walter never remarried. She and infant son Elmer are buried with the original "Grobe" name. Walter changed it to "Grove" before his own death, and that name appears on his gravestone.
