Paul Jimenez, 47, a Victoria resident for the past 33 years, died at a local hospital Thursday at 2:10 a.m. after a lengthy illness.
The body lies in state at the Artero Funeral Chapel where a rosary was said Thursday night. Funeral services will be Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the chapel and at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, where a Requiem High Mass will be sung. The Rev. Hyacinth Rosati will officiate. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Consuelo Tobar and Miss Inez Jimenez, both of Victoria; a son, Estevan; four brothers, Ernesto, Benancio, Rafael and Guadalupe, all of Victoria; two sisters, Mrs. Jinoveva Alvarado of Lafayette, La., and Mrs. Maria Cortez of Victoria.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ruiz, Samuel Vasquez, John Ybarbo, Ambrosio Briones, Domingo Carbajal, and Louis De Los Santos. Floral committee includes Mary Ruiz, Mary Jimenez, Maclovia Chesshir, and Anais Jimenez.
