Walter Budde Walter H. Budde, 64, 2023 Rolfes Road, Maria Stein, died following a six-month illness at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 18, 2000 at the James Cancer Center in Columbus. He was born April 8, 1936, in Maria Stein, to William and Rose (Kaiser) Budde. On Nov. 3, 1962, he married Suzanne L. Subler, who survives. Other survivors are three sons and their wives, William and Tina of Beavercreek, David and Kelley, and Michael and Shannon, all of Maria Stein; three sisters and their husbands, Jeanette and Ernie Philpot, New Bremen, Cecelia and Gary Spoltman, Vandalia, and Barbara and Jack Fetters, Arlington, Texas; two brothers and their wives, Paul and Sarah of Bowling Green, Ky., and Robert and Maryanne of Maria Stein; and two grandchildren. He was owner and operator of Budde Construction, Maria Stein, and was a veteran of Ohio National Guard. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Knights of St. John, and American Legion, all of Maria Stein. He was a 1954 graduate of Marion Local School. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Emil Labbe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Calling is 3-9 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
