She had not been well for some time but was in usual health when she retired Wednesday evening. In the morning it was found that life was extinct, death having occurred some time after midnight.
The remains were removed to the home of her son, R. E. Dyer, in this city, and on Sunday evening were taken to her home in Washington township, where funeral services were held on Monday.
Mary Malinda Gillham, oldest child of Isaac and Nancy Gillham, was born in Warren county, Ill., on Oct. 22, 1858. Had she lived until Wednesday of this week she would have been 66 years of age.
She was united in marriage to Wright Dyer on Nov. 9, 1876. To this union twelve children were born, six sons and six daughters. One son, Walter, and two daughters, Iva and Hazel, preceded their mother to the better world. Those surviving are Mrs. Mertie Kennedy, of Myers Falls, Washington; Ruea, Vergie and George, of Chariton; Mrs. Clara Jones, of Corydon; Carrie, Mrs. Amy Reynolds, Everett and Ira, of Russell, and with the husband and father are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother.
She also leaves thirty-seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and five sisters and four brothers. Her father and mother, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
In the year 1913 she was saved and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and lived faithful until the Lord called her home. She was a loving wife and dutiful mother, always sharing their joys and sorrows, and has gone home to rest in Jesus, where parting never comes.
