Memorial services for Anne M. Von Hoff, 79, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia. Rev. Philip D. Lund will officiate.

Born Sept. 13, 1919, in St. Charles, the daughter of John and Hilda Eckstrom, she departed this earthly life on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. Private interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva [sic].

Anne was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia, where she served as a former Sunday and Thursday school teacher. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church Women's Kindness Circle and was active in the ladies Tuesday quilting group. She was a gifted artist in water colors, specializing in greeting cards. She treasured her special times with her beloved grandchildren and family and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, George F. Von Hoff, whom she married on Dec. 20, 1942, in Reno, Nev.; sons, Bruce F. Von Hoff of Gulfport, Fla., Byron G. (Louise) Von Hoff of St. Charles, Burt (Kathy) Von Hoff of Tallahassee, Fla., and Barry (Jan) Von Hoff of Brookfield, Wis.; grandchildren, Marlea, Baron, Erich, Heather, Jenny, Heidi, Andrea, Ryan, and Bethany; brother, Donald Eckstrom of South Elgin; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Stella Skoney; and brothers, Carl and Raymond Eckstrom.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St., Batavia, IL 60510 or the American Diabetes Association, Northern Illinois Affiliate, Inc., Suite 1202, 6 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60602.
