Graveside services were held this afternoon in the West Side District Cemetery for Maxine Lanell Barker, 52, of 617 Harrison St., who died Saturday in local hospital.

She was born March 26, 1929, in Henrietta, Texas, to Asbury and Eva Mobley.

In 1943, she moved to Bakersfield. While living in Bakersfield, she met Roy Lee Barker, and they were married Jan. 4, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to Taft shortly after their marriage, and her husband Roy, began working for Santa Fe Energy.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, and had also been attending at New Hope Temple.

Family get togethers, and walks on the beach while on vacation were most dear to her.

In addition to her husband Roy, she is survived by two daughters, two brothers, a sister, one grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister, Cleota Loosier proceeded her in death in 1979.

The pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiated in the services.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Taft Funeral Home.
