Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Piedmont Methodist church with burial in the Palmer cemetery northwest of Piedmont. Arrangements are under the direction of Turner funeral home of Yukon.
Born Dec. 12, 1877, in Noble, Ill., Palmer made the run into Oklahoma territory in 1889 with his parents. They homesteaded a farm west of Piedmont and Palmer lived and farmed there many years.
He served the U.S. government as a horse and mule buyer and a grain buyer and was county commissioner for one term from 1932-1936.
Surviving are his wife Cora, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Mae Griffin, Edmond, Mrs. Lilly Floyd, Los Fresnos, Texas, and Mrs. Wanda Shaw, Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs John Whelan, Piedmont, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
