Joseph Arthur Burkett died Monday, November 30, 1998, in Wagoner at the age of 37 years. He was born December 23, 1960 in Phoenix, Arizona to Jimmy and Joan (Cosper) Burkett. Joe was an employee at Glenn's Restaurant in Wagoner. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Jimmy Cosper.
Joe is survived by his mother, Joan Burkett of Catoosa; father, Jimmy Burkett of Osage City, Kansas; children, Amanda Joan, Audra Louise, Cassandra Wynn Burkett and step-daughter, Geena Helt, all of Branson, Missouri; the mother of his children, Rebecca Helt of Branson; brothers, Timothy Burkett of Tulsa and Brian Russell Burkett of Larue, Texas; sister, Leslie Palafox; maternal grandmother, Dortha Campbell of Broken Arrow; and aunt and uncle, Jill and Bob Roberson of Broken Arrow.
Graveside services were held at 11am Friday, December 4, 1998 in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma with Reverend Terry Presley officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hersman Funeral Home of Wagoner.
