Note***
His second wife "Mary" brought suit against some of Adam and his first wife's children. Included were Jacob, John, Peter and Solomon, as well as, Christina and her husband Samuel Bird, Susanna and her husband John Tash and Elizabeth and her spouse Joseph Perrel. They were notified by published notice on May 31, 1839 summoning them to come to the Courthouse in Lexington, Davidson, North Carolina.

The suit was filed to obtain yearly allowances from the estate for the care of herself and four small children under the age of ten. Two died young; Nancy in 1839 and Benjamin in 1843
