Had Been a Resident of This City for a Number of Years
James Samuel Clifton died at his home on West Amelia Street at an early hour Wednesday morning. Funeral services will be held his afternoon at 5pm from St Paul's Methodist church. Internment will be made in Sunnyside Cemetery. The service will be in charge of Dr T G Herbert.
Mr Clifton was 62 years of age and had been sick for only about a week. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Elizabeth Clifton, Kate Clifton, Mary Clifton, Dorothy Clifton, Jessie Clifton, and Sam Clifton, all of this city, and Mrs Mitchell Griffin, of Charlerston. He also leaves one brother and 3 sisters; Dr J A Clifton, of Beaufort; Mrs Josephine Camp, and Mrs Katie Winkle, both of Birmingham, Ala,; and Mrs Mary Stokes, of Florida.
